Simon Barrett is a Partner and Chairman of L.E.K. Australia. He has more than 24 years of experience in strategy consulting in Australia/New Zealand, Asia and Europe.

Simon advises major corporations on strategy and mergers and acquisitions, and he works extensively in the public sector on policy and commercial issues. He also leads L.E.K.’s Surface Transport & Logistics practice in the Asia-Pacific region. In this capacity, Simon has been deeply involved in many of the major transport reforms in Australia and New Zealand in the last decade through his close work with clients concerning passenger and freight rail, light rail, bus, aviation and airports. He joined L.E.K.'s London office in the early 1990s, and after six years in Europe, returned to Australia, where he is now based in the Sydney office. Simon earned a Bachelor of Science, with honors, from the University of Melbourne and a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, where he also received a Cambridge Australia Trust Scholarship.
